Call Committee Update 5.1.24

Posted on

Dear Members of Bethel,

As a result of the passed motion from the April 28, 2024 Congregational Special Meeting, Bethel Lutheran Church is pleased to announce Pastor Ladd Sonnenberg for the position of Lead Pastor. Although the call process allows 21 days to respond to the call, Pastor Ladd accepted the position same-day and will officially move into the new position as of May 1, 2024; the installation and celebration date is to be determined. Please see the following acceptance notification:

"Dear Bethel Lutheran Church Call Committee, Church Council, and Disciples at Bethel,
It is with great joy that I accept the call to be the next Lead Pastor at Bethel Lutheran Church. My family and I have been blessed for the past 8 years to walk alongside you and your families while I served as the Pastor of Youth and Family Ministries. We have learned so much from you all and pray we have been able to teach you equally.

As we move forward as Bethel, both Church and Preschool, I know God has more amazing things in store for us as we continue to live out our mission of connecting, growing, and serving. In continued partnership with Pastor Kris, as before, I have confidence that we will be able to do so much for those here at Bethel, in the St. Croix Valley, and around the world. We have such a talented and gifted staff who I know are ready to “Walk With Us” into the next chapter.

Thank you for believing in all of us here at Bethel, and thank you for the opportunity to continue to serve alongside of you as we shine God’s light to the world through all we do and say.

Blessings,
Pastor Ladd Sonnenberg"

I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Transition Committee, Call Committee and Council for their dedication and perseverance, the Pastors and staff for their tireless commitment, the Synod for their guidance and consult, and the congregation for their patience and engagement. This process has been a journey of faith, and with your continued prayers, we look forward of what’s to come.

In Christ,
Nicole Lato, Council President
