And he will send forth his angels with the sound of a mighty trumpet blast, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.                            Matthew 24:31 

When we moved to Hudson, I favored joining Bethel Lutheran because I wanted to disappear into a large congregation. That changed when two of God’s angels tapped me on the shoulder. Jeff Spomer asked me to haul folding chairs for Rally Sunday. Pam Stofferahn wondered if I might be interested in teaching Sunday school.  So much for hiding! A couple of taps on the shoulder had me teaching Sunday school, serving on church council, and ushering at the 8:00 service. God utilizes earthly angels that someday in the near future might tap you on the shoulder. Better yet, God might choose you to do the tapping. By asking someone to get involved, you might just change a life. I will be forever grateful to Jeff and Pam for the invitation to participate in Bethel’s great work.

Prayer:  Lord, give me the strength and courage to include others in the great work we do at Bethel Lutheran.  And if someone offers an opportunity to serve, help me say “Yes!”
