LENTEN DEVOTIONALS 2018

Day 28 - Tuesday, March 13

Posted by Alan Burchill on

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,  faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control: against such there is no law.                                                                                Galatians 5: 22-23

We live in a complex, diverse, multicultural world. Many different cultures, religions, and political viewpoints have an influence on who we are and how we behave. In America today, we have many choices in what to believe, types of religions and how to live our lives.

As a Christian, Galatians 5:22-23 sets the standard as to the way we should live our lives and our daily interaction with all people. God’s Spirit gives us a guide to show us a way to live that no one can find offensive or oppressive.

This verse is straight forward and easy to understand but difficult for us to achieve. Many times we just think about ourselves and our wishes and desires without using the great fruits of the Spirit.

Imagine what our world and country would be if all of us used the fruit of the Spirit every day as we interact with the people the world.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, help us to remember to live our lives with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, so that we as Christians can be the beacon of light in a sometimes dark world. In Jesus name we pray.  Amen
