The Memorial Service for Lillian Chukel has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 1st at the Bethel Highlands Campus. The visitation will begin at 11:00AM with the memorial service starting at Noon. A meal will follow.
Lillian's Obtuary:
Lillian Chukel, passed away on January 31, 2025, at the age of 86 with family by her side. Born on January 4, 1939, to parents Laverne and Lorena Lundgren. She graduated from Elmwood High School and went on to become an executive secretary for many organizations, most recently Junior Achievement. In 1964 Lillian married the love of her life Thomas Chukel and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage.
Lillian was known for her vibrant spirit, particularly during the holiday season, with Christmas being her favorite time of year. Her home was always beautifully adorned, reflecting her love for decorating and bringing joy to those around her. She had a knack for creating warm and inviting spaces that welcomed family and friends alike.
Beyond her love for the holidays, Lillian found peace and joy in nature, often spending her days fishing at Red Cedar Lake or enjoying tranquil evenings by the campfire, where stories and laughter echoed under the stars. She also cherished the simple pleasures of life, including playing cards with friends and family. Her musical talents shone brightly in her younger years as a member of the choir, where her voice connected her with her faith and community.
She is survived by her loving husband Thomas, sons Tom (Peggy) Chukel and Tim (Stephanie) Chukel; grandchildren Kevin, Karyn, Lauren, and Darren; brother Gary Lundgren. She is preceded in death by her sons Mike Smith and Terry Smith; brother Herman Lundgren; parents Laverne and Lorena Lundgren.
