Roger Peterson Memorial Service

A Memorial Service for Roger Peterson will take place on Friday, August 29th. The Peterson family invites you to the Bethel Downtown Campus to celebrate Roger’s life. The visitation will start at 10:00AM with the memorial service beginning at 11AM. The service will be livestreamed on Bethel's YouTube Channel and Website. There will be a meal following the service.
 
Roger D. Peterson, age 88 of Hudson, passed away August 25, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family at Pine Ridge Gardens in Hudson. He was born July 28, 1937 in Viroqua, WI the son of Arlo and Laura Peterson. At the age of 8, Roger moved with his family to Hudson.
 
He graduated from Hudson High School in 1955. Roger honorably served in the US Air Force. He was discharged from the Air Force Reserves in 1962. On October 11, 1958 he and Earleta “Skip” Volker of Hudson were united in Marriage at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson.
 
Early on he worked with his father in electrical equipment sales. In 1970, he began his career as a State Farm agent. For 30 years he served the local community and built a lifetime of friendships. He was a member of the Hudson Rotary Club, and an active member at Bethel Lutheran Church. As a young man he sang in the choir.
 
Roger wintered in Bonita Springs and Fort Myers, Florida. He enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, boating on the St. Croix River, hunting and fishing and the MN Vikings. He will be remembered as a kind and generous person and loved to host many family get togethers at his pool and cabin.
 
Preceded in death by his wife, Earleta “Skip” in 2009; parents; and son-in-law, Lenny Rude. He will be dearly missed by his children; Lynn Rude, David “Petey” (Cathy), and Lori (Mark) Zimmermann; grandchildren; Jason and Elizabeth Rude, Robert, David, and Samantha Zimmermann; great-grandchildren; Amelia, Joseph, Jackson, and Georgia Belle; siblings; Doug (Barb) Peterson, Judith Rogers, and Jerry Peterson; and special friend, Birgith.
 
Memorials preferred to Lakeview Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
