It was in October that Bethel’s Church Council voted unanimously to extend an invitation to Pastor Kris Kurzejeski to rejoin our pastoral team, after resigning her position three months earlier. Pastor Kris graciously accepted our offer, and we have been so glad to have her back as a part of our pastoral team, and a part of our congregation! However, Pastor Kris is currently serving as our “interim” or “bridge” pastor, which is only a temporary position.
To reinstate her as our “called” and “long-term” pastor, requires a congregational meeting with a two-thirds vote.
The council has scheduled a congregational meeting for Sunday, February 27th at 1:00 P.M. at our Highlands Campus. So our next step in retaining Pastor Kris long-term, is to gather the congregation for this vote. We need you there to cast your voice and your vote, so please put this on your schedule and your calendar.
I think it is very easy to assume this is a “no-brainer” and a “shoe-in” for Pastor Kris. But it won’t happen without YOU there to cast your vote. Bethel’s by-laws call for at least a two-thirds majority vote during the Congregational Meeting. We want to show our support and our unity in restoring her call to ministry at Bethel. So please join us on Sunday February 27th for this special congregational meeting.
