Lenten Devotions Day 18

Posted by Dag Selander on

“Jesus said, let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

Jesus wanted to make sure that the children were taken care of by teaching them to do the right things in life. Our children are our future. And how we teach them is very important for generations to come.

I see the preschool at Bethel and how the teachers are doing such a great job! The children are happy to be there and love to come back day-after-day. They are experiencing Jesus in all of the fun activities.

The Sunday School program makes me think back to my own childhood in Norway. I was the oldest out of six children and I walked my siblings to church every Sunday. Those years made an impact in my life and remind me how important it is to be there for our children as they grow up knowing Jesus. The children look up to us as adults, so it’s good to set a good and positive example and guide them through life, especially when I see how things are in the world today, where children are left sometimes without guidance.

I have a strong passion for helping the youth and I have the privilege of doing that as I coach and mentor the junior cyclists in the Minnesota Junior Cycling program along with my son, Bjorn. We are giving back what “God given gifts” were given to us in our sport.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Let us not forget to take an extra five minutes to guide and support the  children of the world. Amen.
