Lenten Devotions Day 27

Posted by Tim Chukel on

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” Romans 12:4-8

In 2013, a video came out from Soul Pancake called, “A Pep Talk from Kid President to You.”  The three-minute video covers topics of teamwork, purpose and celebrating life. Every time I watch, I get something new from it.

Today, I want to focus on two quotes. The first quote, “We were made to be awesome!” Each of us has special and unique gifts that we have been given to share with others. The Bible talks about, “gifts of the Spirit,” in Romans 12, 1 Peter, and 1 Corinthians. Take a moment to read and prayerfully consider the gifts you have been given. You are awesome!

“It’s everybody's duty to give the world a reason to dance.” I want to take this quote one step further. “It's everybody's duty to dance.” Take a moment to watch a sunrise or sunset. Smell the damp leaves in a quiet forest. Listen to the laughter in a crowd. Savor the richness of your favorite food. Feel the warmth of the sun on your face. All of these examples, and more, give everyone a reason to dance in our own way to the creation God has given us.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Help me quietly listen and discover the gifts that I have been given and help me share those gifts with others. Thank You. You are awesome! Amen.
