Over the last several weeks, your Call Committee has been working diligently in partnership with the Northwest Synod on the search for our next Lead Pastor. Through guidance by Bethel’s church council and our congregation, we have identified more than 50 potential candidates nationally which has been narrowed to 31, accounting for “preaching” and leadership styles as well as other criteria surrounding their current congregation’s growth which are attractive to the vision for Bethel’s future.

We anticipate a final candidate list not later than the end of July after approval by the Northwest Synod. A series of interviews to determine who will best serve Bethel will be completed followed by approval of the recommended pastor by our council. Ultimately, as required by Bethel’s constitution and bylaws, a vote by our congregation to install our new lead pastor will be held.

We will continue to work diligently towards a strong final selection concluding as soon as is reasonable possible.
